A robin alarmed

A robin on a

fence post

puffs himself out

for all he's worth,

dipping and tittering,

shaking like an alarm clock.

He knows his enemies

in a linear way,

knows the way of all flesh.

So he squares up

to this sudden shocking plunder

of bulldozing proportions,

squares up to something

forty times

his size.
